Announcements Week of February 17, 2019

Shrove Tuesday / Pancake Supper, March 5: This year we will have our annual pancake supper with Center Grove Lutheran Church. Ken Parker will be our point of contact and will disseminate information in the next few weeks.

Community Meal: We are looking to serve an evening meal as a service opportunity in the next few months.  If you know of a place that hosts a meal and would like to have us come along side them to provide and serve a meal please let Pam McVicker know. We will also need someone to help by taking the role of organizer for the meal and communication to the church. Thank you all for being willing to bless others as we serve in God’s Kingdom.

Counters: We need a few existing church members to assist in counting tithes and offerings. If we can get enough people on the counting team, it will result in counting once a month for each group. Please see your Senior Warden, Pam McVicker, to get on the list for training and scheduling.

Women’s Wednesday Morning Bible Study: Spring session will begin on Wednesday February 20 at 9:30 a.m. This study is The Armor of God with Priscilla Shirer. All women are invited to this study. The cost of the book is $20.00. It is a video centered study facilitated by Barbara Parker 704-796-0380 and Janelle Murray 919-604-9504.

Prayer Groups: With so much going on in this world, do you feel constantly under attack? Jesus has told us to pray. Here are some opportunities for the two churches to come together to pray for THE church. Monday evenings at 6:30 p.m. beginning February 18 and Friday mornings at 10:00 a.m. beginning March 8.

SonShineSisters Coffee and Conversation: Next “Coffee & Conversations” is Tuesday, February 26th, from 5 to 7 at French Express Coffeehouse. Join us for a time of monthly fellowship for the ladies of RAC and CGL.

Holy Land Presentation:  A Holy Land presentation will be given on Wednesday, March 27th, in the fellowship hall at 6:30 after Vespers. The photos depict the places of Jesus’ life and miracles in Israel.

Men’s Breakfast Group: The Center Grove Lutheran men’s group has extended an invitation for all men to gather the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month at 9:30 a.m. @ Steak and Shake in Kannapolis for a time of fellowship and breakfast. This is a “Dutch Treat Event” and all are welcome to join.

Dinner Group: Are you interested in getting together in groups of 8 to fellowship over dinner? We can go out to dinner, everyone bring a dish or hostess prepares the meal.  Contact Barbara Parker 704-796-0380 if you are interested and what evening works for you.

Would you like to pray more?  Do you desire to learn the Anglican tradition of prayer? Join us for Evening Prayer on Wednesday nights before Bible Study.  This is a great opportunity to join others from your Church family as we lift up our voices before the Lord.
